Any high school film competitions to get involved in?

Hey! I'm really passionate about film and wanted to know if there are any high school film competitions that you'd recommend participating in. I'd love to submit some of my work and get feedback from others.

There are quite a few high school film competitions that you can consider participating in! Here are some popular ones that you might find interesting:

1. Scholastic Art & Writing Awards: This is one of the most prestigious competitions for creative teens. They have a film and animation category where you can submit your work. Winning a Scholastic Art & Writing award can be a significant achievement on your college application. Learn more at artandwriting.org.

2. National YoungArts Foundation: YoungArts offers several categories for submissions, including Cinematic Arts. Not only can you earn recognition for your work, but you may also have the chance to receive financial awards, mentorship opportunities, and participate in nationwide events. Check out their website at youngarts.org.

3. All American High School Film Festival (AAHSFF): Known as the largest high school film festival in the nation, AAHSFF showcases work across various categories like narrative, documentary, experimental, and more. Additionally, they hold workshops, panels, and networking events for young filmmakers. Visit hsfilmfest.com for more information.

4. CineYouth: Organized by the Chicago International Film Festival, CineYouth offers a platform for young filmmakers to showcase their work and compete for awards. They also host a festival where selected films are screened. Visit their website at chicagofilmfestival.com/cineyouth for further details.

5. SXSW Film Festival – High School Shorts: The annual South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival provides an opportunity for high school students to submit short films for screening at the event. Although it's a smaller category, it offers a great platform for young filmmakers to gain exposure. Check sxsw.com for more information.

These are just a few examples of the numerous opportunities available. When choosing a competition, make sure to pay close attention to submission deadlines, guidelines, and eligibility criteria. Good luck, and I hope you find a suitable competition to showcase your talent!
