How would you describe the world you come from?

I've seen a few college essay prompts that ask me to describe the world I come from. I'm not exactly sure what this means. Should I talk about my cultural background? Or should I focus on my family and our values? How do you guys interpret this prompt?

You could discuss how your family dynamics, relationships, and shared beliefs have shaped the person you are today.
