Affording Roger Williams University?

Hey guys, I really like Roger Williams University, but I'm not sure if I can afford it. Does anyone here have any experience with financial aid or scholarships at RWU? How generous are they with financial packages?

Hello! I understand your concern about affording college, especially at a private institution like Roger Williams University. While I can't provide personal experiences, I do know that RWU offers a range of financial aid options, including scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study programs.

First, be sure to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible. This will give you an idea of what kind of federal loans and grants you may qualify for. Additionally, if you haven't already, apply for any merit-based scholarships offered by RWU. These scholarships are awarded based on your academic achievements and don't typically require additional applications.

As for need-based financial aid, Roger Williams University is committed to meeting the full demonstrated need for students who have completed the FAFSA by the priority filing deadline. The university assesses each student's financial needs individually and creates a package that may consist of grants, loans, and work-study opportunities.

One thing to note is that RWU also offers many Major scholarships for students pursuing specific majors. Be sure to check their website to see if any of the majors you're considering might be eligible for one of these scholarships.

Additionally, utilize external scholarship opportunities and search for awards specific to your major, your state, or other unique qualifications. Websites like Fastweb and Scholarships.com provide resources to help you find and apply for scholarships.

Finally, don't hesitate to contact the Financial Aid Office at RWU if you have any concerns or need clarification on financial aid processes. They're there to help guide you through this process and can discuss options that may be available to you. Remember, college financing is a combination of multiple sources, and being proactive in searching for aid can help make Roger Williams University more affordable. Best of luck!
