Purdue vs Northeastern: How do I decide?

Hey guys! I've been accepted to both Purdue and Northeastern, and I'm having a tough time choosing between them. Can anyone share their experiences and give some insight into the differences between the schools? Do they have different internship opportunities or extracurricular activities? Thanks in advance!

Congratulations on your offers from Purdue and Northeastern! Both are great schools, but they do have some differences to consider when making your decision. I'll try to give you some insights to help you out!

Campus and Location: Purdue is located in West Lafayette, Indiana, which is more of a college town. It's got a strong sense of community and can offer a more traditional college experience. Northeastern, on the other hand, is in the heart of Boston, a big city with lots of things to do, see, and explore. Consider whether you prefer a college town or urban environment, as this will impact your overall college experience.

Internships and Co-ops: Both schools offer strong career services; however, Northeastern is well known for its co-op program where students alternate semesters of classroom studies with full-time work experiences. This can give you a real edge when it comes to job hunting after graduation. Purdue also offers internships, but the focus is not as strong as the co-op program at Northeastern.

Academics: Purdue is well known for its engineering and technology programs and has a strong overall reputation for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. If you're leaning towards these subjects, Purdue might be a better choice. On the other hand, Northeastern offers a broader range of programs, including a strong business school and liberal arts programs. Make sure to research the specific majors and departments that interest you at each school.

Extracurriculars: Both schools have a wide range of clubs, activities, and sports teams to get involved in. Purdue has a strong Greek life presence, so if that's something you're interested in, you may want to consider Purdue. Northeastern has a big emphasis on community service and global experiences, with many opportunities for study abroad and alternative spring break programs.

Cost and Financial Aid: Lastly, consider the cost and financial aid packages each school has offered you. Compare the expenses and aid to determine which option is more financially feasible for you and your family.

Take some time to reflect on what factors are most important to you and maybe even visit the campuses if possible. Good luck with your decision, and feel free to ask more questions if you need further clarification!
