Huntsman vs. Wharton at UPenn?

Hi! I'm considering applying to either the Huntsman Program and Wharton at UPenn. Can anyone explain the key differences between them? I'm super interested in international business, but I'm not sure which one would be the better fit for me.

The main difference between the Huntsman Program and Wharton is the area of focus and the structure of the programs. The Huntsman Program is an interdisciplinary program that combines international business and language studies, while Wharton focuses primarily on business.

The Huntsman Program in International Studies and Business is a unique program that provides you with a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the College of Arts and Sciences. It's designed for students who have a strong interest in international business and who wish to develop proficiency in a foreign language. The program emphasizes the importance of cultural understanding in conducting global business. As a Huntsman student, you'll receive two degrees, be required to study abroad, live in a community with over Huntsman students as a freshman, and pursue your target language.

On the other hand, Wharton is one of the world's most renowned business schools and offers a more traditional business education. You'll be able to choose from a wide variety of concentrations within business, such as finance, marketing, management, entrepreneurship, and many others. While Wharton has an international business concentration, it doesn't inherently incorporate the language and cultural studies that the Huntsman Program does.

Ultimately, the better fit for you will depend on your personal goals and interests. If you're passionate about international business and want a deep understanding of a specific language and culture, the Huntsman Program may be right for you. However, if you want more flexibility to explore various areas of business and are not as interested in focusing on a specific foreign language, Wharton may be a better option. Both programs are highly prestigious and will provide you with an excellent education, the choice primarily comes down to which path aligns with your career aspirations and academic interests.
