Hey! I'm considering applying to Penn State and I'm curious about their Greek life. Can anybody tell me what percentage of students participate in it? Thanks!
Hey there! Greek life at Penn State is definitely present and has a significant presence on campus. Around 15-18% of the undergraduate students at Penn State participate in Greek organizations. This includes around 70 fraternities and sororities on campus, with chapters in the Interfraternity Council (IFC), the Panhellenic Council (PHC), the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), and the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC).
While Greek life is popular, keep in mind that there are also over 1,000 student organizations and clubs, so there are many other ways to get involved on campus outside of Greek life as well. Ultimately, your experience at Penn State can be what you make of it, so it's worth looking into both Greek and non-Greek opportunities when you're making your decision. Good luck!
