Tech companies with training programs?

Hey everyone! I've been looking into the tech industry and was wondering if there are any tech companies out there that offer training programs or internships for high school students? I'm trying to gain some experience before applying to college and it'd be great to add something like that to my extracurriculars.

Hey! It's terrific that you're considering exploring the tech industry during high school. Several tech companies offer opportunities for high school students to gain hands-on experience, ranging from internships to workshops and summer camps. Here are a few examples, but note that opportunities may vary from year to year, so be sure to check out the companies' websites for their most current offerings.

1. Google's Computer Science Summer Institute (CSSI): Google offers a free, residential summer program for rising college freshmen that are interested in computer science. Participants have the chance to learn programming fundamentals and develop soft skills through group projects.

2. Microsoft High School Internship Program: Microsoft has a competitive internship program specifically tailored for high school students. This paid internship typically runs for 4 weeks during the summer and provides opportunities to work on actual projects alongside their full-time employees.

3. Amazon Future Engineer: Amazon's Future Engineer program offers scholarships and internships for high school seniors interested in pursuing computer science and related fields. Additionally, they provide free events and workshops that target high school students who are passionate about computer science and from underrepresented backgrounds.

When researching opportunities, don't overlook local tech companies and startups. They often appreciate the fresh perspective that high school interns can bring to their teams. Additionally, consider participating in hackathons and coding competitions, which can also demonstrate your passion for the industry. Remember, gaining experience in the tech industry can come in many forms. So explore various avenues, and enjoy the journey! Good luck!
