Princeton University Transfer Deadline?

Hey everyone, I'm currently a college freshman, but I'm considering transferring to Princeton University. I was wondering if someone could provide me with information on the deadlines and requirements for transferring to Princeton? Also, what factors do they consider in the transfer process? Thanks in advance!

Hello! It's great that you're considering transferring to Princeton University. For the application cycle, the transfer deadline for Princeton is typically around March 1st. Keep in mind that deadlines may change from year to year, so it's a good idea to check Princeton's official transfer admissions page for the most up-to-date information on deadlines and requirements.

As for the requirements, you will need to submit the following:

1. A transfer application through either the Coalition Application or the Common Application.

2. Official college transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended.

3. Official high school transcripts.

4. Mid-term report evaluating your academic work in progress.

5. Two academic letters of recommendation (at least one from a college professsor)

6. The Princeton Transfer Supplement, which includes a few short essays and other questions specific to Princeton.

7. A graded paper

8. SAT or ACT scores (optional).

Additionally, an optional interview may be offered after the submission of your application.

In the transfer process, Princeton considers various factors similar to those in the first-year admission process. They will review your academic performance in college; the rigor and depth of your coursework; your extracurricular activities, leadership roles, and community involvement; and the context of your background, among other factors. Your essays and letters of recommendation will also play a crucial role in demonstrating your intellectual curiosity, character, and potential to contribute positively to Princeton's community.

It's important to note that Princeton's transfer acceptance rate is quite low, and being a highly selective institution, the process is competitive. Nonetheless, it is definitely worth trying if you believe Princeton is the right fit for your academic and personal growth.
