Early decision at Harvard Law?

Hello everyone! I'm starting to think about law school and curious if Harvard Law School offers an early decision option. If so, are there any benefits like increased acceptance rates for those who apply early decision? Thanks!

Hello! It's important to note that Early Decision (ED) is typically specific to undergraduate college admissions, while law school admissions processes can differ. Harvard Law School does not offer an Early Decision program. Instead, they have a rolling admissions process, which means they evaluate applications as they are submitted between early September and early February.

While applying early in the rolling admissions process doesn't guarantee an increased acceptance rate (as can sometimes be the case for ED), it could still be beneficial for you to submit your application earlier rather than later. Applying earlier in the cycle might increase your chances of being accepted, as there will be more available seats in the class at that time. Additionally, applying early could potentially result in a quicker decision, as admissions offices might have more time to review applications earlier in the cycle.

Make sure to thoroughly research and prepare your application materials, including LSAT scores, academic transcripts, personal statement, and letters of recommendation, to increase your competitiveness in the admissions process. Good luck with your law school journey!
