What are some good colleges for computer science majors?

Hi everyone, I'm a high school junior, and I'm interested in majoring in computer science in college. What are some good colleges with strong computer science programs that I should consider applying to? I'm open to suggestions for both large universities and smaller liberal arts colleges. Thanks for your help!

Hi there! It's great to hear that you're interested in computer science as a major. My child is currently studying computer science in college, and we did quite a bit of research on this topic when they were applying. Some top universities known for their strong computer science programs include MIT, Stanford, Carnegie Mellon, and Caltech. For public universities, you can consider UC Berkeley, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, University of Michigan, and University of Washington. These schools have a great reputation and plenty of resources for computer science students.

If you're looking for smaller liberal arts colleges, you may want to check out Harvey Mudd College, Swarthmore College, and Pomona College. These schools also offer excellent computer science programs with a more intimate class setting and personalized attention from professors. Remember, it's important to find a college that fits your individual needs and preferences, so I encourage you to research each of these schools further and visit their campuses if possible. Best of luck with your college search!
