How to decide between Early Decision and Early Action?

Hey guys, I'm a current junior and I'm starting to think about applying to college. I've been researching Early Decision and Early Action, but I'm not sure which one is right for me. Can anyone give me some advice on how to decide between the two?

Hi! I can definitely understand the confusion when it comes to deciding between Early Decision (ED) and Early Action (EA). I remember going through this with my own child. I think one of the main factors to consider is how committed you are to your top-choice school. If you're absolutely certain that you want to attend a specific college and you'll be happy with the financial aid they offer, then applying ED can be a great choice as it shows your commitment to the school and may increase your chances of acceptance. However, if you're not 100% sure or you want to compare financial aid packages from different schools, then EA might be a better choice. EA allows you to apply early without being obligated to attend if accepted, giving you more flexibility. Just remember to weigh your options carefully, and don't be afraid to reach out to your school counselor for guidance!
