Recommended SAT score for Georgetown?

Hi everyone! So I've been eyeing Georgetown as one of my top choices for college and I was wondering, what SAT score should I aim for to give myself the best chance of getting in? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Hello! Georgetown is a highly selective university, and while they practice a holistic review process, it's still important to have competitive test scores to be considered a strong applicant. To give yourself the best chance of getting in, you should aim for at least the 50th percentile of accepted students' SAT scores, which is roughly around 1390-1560. Keep in mind that these are the middle 50%, so 25% of admitted students score above this range and 25% score below.

Aiming for a score around or above the 75th percentile, which is 1560, will definitely give you a boost, as scoring in this range demonstrates even stronger academic ability and thus will help set you apart from even other talented applicants. Remember, though, that Georgetown considers all aspects of your application, including GPA, extracurricular activities, and essays, so it's important to be well-rounded and excel in these areas as well. You don’t want to neglect other important pieces of your application because you’re investing all your energy into studying for the SAT, because unfortunately even a perfect 1600 won’t get you in on its own.

Best of luck as you prepare for the SAT and your Georgetown application!
