Does UCLA consider legacy in admissions?

Hi everyone! Both of my parents attended UCLA, and I'm planning on applying there. Does anyone know if legacy status carries any weight in the admissions process at UCLA?

Hello! UCLA, being a public university and part of the University of California system, does not consider legacy status as a factor in its admissions process. The UC schools prioritize providing equal opportunity and accessibility to applicants from all backgrounds. Their admissions decisions are primarily based on factors such as academic achievement, personal qualities, and extracurricular involvement.

As a result, being a legacy student doesn't provide any preferential treatment during the evaluation of your application. Instead, focus on presenting a strong application that showcases your accomplishments and passions and demonstrates why you would be a great fit for the school. Good luck with your application!
