What questions should I ask during college visits?

Hey there, I'm a high school junior and I'm planning on visiting some colleges soon. I want to make the most of my visits, so I was wondering what questions I should ask while I'm there. Any suggestions for important questions to ask during college visits? Thanks so much!

Hi there! It's great that you're planning to visit colleges and want to make the most out of it. Having been through this process recently with my own child, I can share some of the questions we found helpful during our college visits.

1. What is the student-to-faculty ratio, and how accessible are professors outside of class?

2. What kind of support services are available for academic, emotional, and career development?

3. How is the campus safety, and what measures are in place to ensure students feel secure?

4. What housing options are available, and how does the housing process work?

5. Are there study abroad programs, and how do they fit into the curriculum?

6. What unique academic programs or opportunities does the college offer?

7. How is the social life, including clubs, organizations, and Greek life?

8. What types of internships and job placements are available through the college's career center?

9. How does the college support diversity and inclusion on campus?

10. What do current students say they love most about the college, and what do they wish could be improved?

Remember, it's important to get a feel for the campus culture and environment, so don't be afraid to ask questions that are specific to your interests. Good luck on your visits!
