Average SAT Math score?

Hi, I'm curious to know what the average SAT math score is? I want to know how I'm doing compared to the average so I can set a goal for my own score. Can anyone help me out with some info?

Hi! The average SAT math score can vary slightly from year to year, but generally, it falls around the 530-550 range. It's important to note that this is the nationwide average, and you might want to look into the specific averages for your state or the colleges you're interested in to set a more targeted goal.

It's also worth mentioning that the math score makes up half of the total SAT score, which ranges from 400 to 1600, with each section (Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing) being scored between 200 and 800.

To set a goal for your own score, you should identify the schools you're targeting and research their average admitted students' SAT scores. Most colleges will publish their admitted students' middle 50% SAT score range, which can be a more helpful benchmark to aim for.
