RPI early action acceptance rate?

Hey everyone! I'm a high school junior who's very interested in Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as one of my top choices. I plan to apply Early Action next year, and I was wondering if anyone knows what the acceptance rate is for EA applicants? Also, if there are any differences in the process for EA and regular applicants, please let me know! Thanks!

Hey there! RPI (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute) is a great choice for students interested in STEM-focused education. While RPI doesn't publicize the exact Early Action (EA) acceptance rate, it's typically higher than their overall acceptance rate, which has been around 43-53% in recent years. The main advantage of applying EA is that you'll receive a decision earlier (usually by late January) as compared to Regular Decision (RD) applicants, who learn their decision in mid-March.

The application process for EA and RD applicants should be quite similar: you'll need to submit your transcripts, recommendations, essays, and extracurriculars. However, one primary difference is the deadline. For EA, you need to submit your application by December 1st, while for RD, the deadline is typically in mid- to late January.

Applying EA might give you a slight edge in admissions, as it demonstrates your interest in the school early on. Additionally, getting a decision earlier can provide peace of mind and help you plan better for your college journey. Just remember that EA is non-binding, so you'll have until May 1st to decide whether or not to enroll if you're accepted.

Good luck with your RPI application, and don't hesitate to ask if you have any other questions!
