What's Wharton known for outside of business?

Hey guys, I'm aware that Wharton is highly regarded for its business school, but are there any other aspects of the university that are well regarded or strong? Does anyone know what else Wharton has to offer?

Wharton is indeed best known for its prestigious business school, but as a part of the larger University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), it has access to strong programs and resources across a variety of disciplines. Keep in mind that while you are enrolled at Wharton, you can also take advantage of many other academic opportunities available across UPenn.

One particularly strong area is the engineering school: Penn's School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) offers highly regarded programs in computer science, bioengineering, and other fields. Many Wharton students take advantage of the Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology (M&T), which is a dual-degree program that allows students to earn degrees from both Wharton and SEAS. The intersection of business and technology is increasingly important, and this program helps students excel in both areas.

In addition, UPenn has a strong liberal arts program through its College of Arts and Sciences. Studying subjects like economics, political science, or international relations alongside your business education can provide valuable context for informed decision-making in the business world.

UPenn also encourages interdisciplinary work. The Huntsman Program in International Studies & Business, for example, is a four-year program that combines analytical business education with advanced language, cultural studies, and international relations. Students graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Wharton and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the College of Arts and Sciences.

Lastly, UPenn has a large and engaged alumni network across various industries which can help you with networking opportunities, mentorship, and career development. Attending Wharton and being part of the larger UPenn community opens doors to a wide range of resources and opportunities that can significantly enrich your educational experience and prospects beyond just the business realm.
