Beach-loving Student Seeking Colleges on the East Coast!

I absolutely love the beach and would really like to go to a college close to the beach on the East Coast. Can anyone suggest some good colleges that fit this description? Major bonus points if they have a good marine biology or environmental science program!

You're in luck! The East Coast has numerous excellent colleges near beaches, particularly with strong marine biology and environmental science programs. Here are a few suggestions to consider:

1. University of Miami (Florida): Located in beautiful Coral Gables, UM offers an outstanding marine biology program. The Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science is a stone's throw away from the beach, and the campus is also in close proximity to Biscayne Bay.

2. College of Charleston (South Carolina): Nestled in picturesque Charleston, the College of Charleston is just a short drive from the beach. It offers robust programs in marine biology and environmental science, with easy access to the South Carolina coastline for hands-on learning.

3. University of North Carolina Wilmington (North Carolina): UNC Wilmington is a fantastic choice for marine biology enthusiasts, as it's near the coast and close to the renowned Center for Marine Science. The university also has a strong environmental science program.

4. Eckerd College (Florida): Located in St. Petersburg, Eckerd College is situated on the waterfront with a small, private beach on campus. The school offers a strong marine science program, as well as an environmental studies major that focuses on coastal and marine issues.

5. Florida Institute of Technology (Florida): Just a few miles from the Atlantic Ocean in Melbourne, Florida Tech has a renowned marine biology program. Additionally, they offer an environmental science program, providing students with unique research and internship opportunities.

6. Roger Williams University (Rhode Island): Positioned in Bristol, RWU is close to the beautiful coastlines and beaches of Rhode Island. The university offers a marine biology program and an environmental science program, making use of its coastal resources for fieldwork and research.

These colleges offer strong programs in your areas of interest, in addition to fantastic beach access. Check each school's website for further program details and consider visiting the campuses if possible. Exploring these options should give you a good starting point and help you find the perfect beachy college experience!
