Should I include my hobbies in my application?

Hey everyone, I'm a junior and I'm working on my college applications. I have a few hobbies that I'm passionate about, but I'm not sure if I should include them in my application. What do you think, and what advice does collegevine have on this topic? Thanks for your help!

Hello! It's great that you're already working on your college applications as a junior. Including your hobbies in your application can definitely be beneficial, as it gives the admissions officers a better understanding of who you are outside of your academic achievements and extracurricular activities. Your hobbies can show your passion, dedication, and personal growth. As for CollegeVine, they generally recommend including hobbies if they have had a significant impact on your life or if they demonstrate a particular skill or talent that you'd like the admissions committee to be aware of. If you feel that your hobbies align with these criteria, then go ahead and include them! However, if your hobbies are more casual and don't showcase any specific skill or commitment, it might be better to focus on other aspects of your application. Ultimately, it's up to you to decide what you think will make your application stand out and best represent who you are. Good luck with your applications!
