Can I apply to more than one Early Decision school?

Hey guys! I'm a junior and I'm considering applying Early Decision to one of my top-choice colleges. However, I have a few schools that I'm really interested in. Can I apply to more than one ED school, or is that not allowed? Thanks for any advice you can give!

Hi there! It's great that you're thinking about applying Early Decision (ED) to a college. Applying ED can be a good option if you have a clear first-choice school, as it often increases your chances of being accepted. However, to answer your question, you generally cannot apply to more than one ED school. Early Decision is a binding agreement, meaning that if you are accepted, you are committed to attending that school and must withdraw all other applications. As a result, applying to multiple ED schools would create a conflicting situation. That said, you can still apply to other schools through their Early Action (EA) programs, which are non-binding and allow you to apply to multiple schools early without committing to attend. This way, you can apply ED to your top-choice school and EA to other schools you're interested in. Just be sure to double-check each school's specific application policies, as some schools have restrictions on applying EA if you've applied ED elsewhere. Best of luck with your college applications, and I hope you find the perfect fit for you!
