Cornell University - Thoughts?

Hi there! I've been considering Cornell as one of my top choices for college, but I wanted to get some input from current/past students or people familiar with the school. What do you think about Cornell's academics, campus life, and reputation?

Hey! As a current senior at Cornell, I can share my perspectives with you!

Academics: Cornell University is known for its strong academic programs across a range of disciplines. It is an Ivy League institution with a commitment to research, and students benefit from being taught by renowned professors. Some of the most highly-regarded programs at Cornell include engineering, business, agriculture, architecture, hotel administration, and the liberal arts. The academic rigor may be challenging, but it pushes students to reach their full potential.

Campus Life: Cornell's campus is located in Ithaca, New York, and it's known for its beautiful setting, with gorges and waterfalls nearby—and in the middle of campus! The campus is large, and students can use the extensive facilities, including well-equipped libraries, dining halls, and recreation spaces. The student body at Cornell is diverse, and there are many clubs and organizations to get involved in, which can help you find your community. Greek life also plays a role in campus life, but participation is by no means required.

Reputation: Cornell has a strong reputation as an elite institution, and its graduates are sought after by employers and graduate programs. The university is well-regarded for its investment in research and academic excellence. It consistently ranks among the top universities in the U.S. and globally. Keep in mind that public perception may vary, but overall, having a degree from Cornell carries prestige and can open doors for your future career.

Just a note—it's essential to visit the campus, if possible, and connect with current or past students to get a real feel for the university. Speak to alumni or even attend a virtual tour to better understand if Cornell is a good fit for you. Remember that a school's reputation is just one factor to consider when making a college decision. Focus on what you want to study and what kind of environment you'd thrive in to ensure you make the right choice for yourself.
