Binghamton University Athletics

Hey everyone! I'm pretty involved in sports and I'm looking into Binghamton University. Can anyone tell me about the athletics scene there? What are the facilities like, and do they have a good variety of sports teams? Thanks!

Hello! Binghamton University, part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system, has a solid athletics program with 21 varsity sports teams competing at the NCAA Division I level in the America East Conference. The university has both men's and women's teams in sports such as basketball, soccer, tennis, swimming & diving, cross country, and track & field. Men's teams also include baseball and wrestling, while women's teams include softball, volleyball, and golf. Additionally, club sports and intramural programs are available for students who may not wish to compete at the D1 level but still want to engage in sports during their time at college.

In terms of facilities, Binghamton University has invested in upgrading and maintaining high-quality athletic facilities for student-athletes. The centerpiece of the athletics facilities is the 5,000-seat Events Center, which serves as the home for the basketball and wrestling teams. The West Gym houses a competition pool for swimming and diving teams as well as a fitness center. Other facilities include the Bearcats Sports Complex, which features fields for soccer, lacrosse, and softball; the Bearcats Tennis Complex; and the East Gym, which has an indoor track, racquetball courts, and additional fitness facilities.

Overall, Binghamton University has a vibrant athletic scene with various opportunities for student-athletes to compete and showcase their abilities, along with facilities to support their athletic pursuits. If you're involved in sports and looking for a university with a solid athletics program, Binghamton is definitely a place to consider!
