How old is Harvard University?

I've read that Harvard University is one of the oldest universities in the US, but I'm not exactly sure about its age. Does anyone know the exact founding year or have any interesting historical facts to share about this prestigious institution?

Harvard University was founded in 1636, making it the oldest institution of higher learning in the United States. The University was established by a vote of the Great and General Court of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, and it was originally intended to primarily train ministers. In 1639, the University was named "Harvard College" after John Harvard, a young clergyman who left his library of over 300 books and half of his estate to the college upon his death.

Throughout its history, Harvard has expanded and evolved to become one of the most renowned universities in the world. Today, it includes a diverse range of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs spanning multiple disciplines, with hubs for innovation, research, and scholarship.

Its rich history has seen the establishment of the first printing press in North America (1638), America's first college newspaper (1873), and the first American doctoral degrees (1873). The University's alumni include numerous prominent figures such as U.S. presidents, Nobel laureates, as well as leaders from business, science, arts, and academia.
