What should I do if I don't have any leadership positions in my extracurriculars?

Hey guys, I'm a junior in high school and I've been involved in a few extracurriculars, but I haven't held any leadership positions. I'm worried that this might hurt my chances of getting into college. What can I do to show colleges that I'm still a strong candidate, even without leadership experience? Thanks for any advice!

First of all, don't worry too much about not having leadership positions in your extracurriculars. While they can be a bonus, colleges also look for other qualities in applicants, such as teamwork, passion, and commitment. There are several ways you can demonstrate these qualities despite not having leadership experience.

1. Expand on your current extracurricular activities: Show colleges that you are passionate and dedicated to the activities you are involved in. This can be done by taking on more responsibilities, volunteering for projects, or actively participating in events.

2. Develop a personal project: If you don't have leadership experience in your clubs or teams, consider starting a personal project related to your interests. This could be anything from a blog, a YouTube channel, or organizing a community event.

3. Highlight your teamwork skills: Colleges value students who can work well with others. Emphasize the role you played in group projects, team sports, or club events, focusing on collaboration and your contributions to the group's success.

Remember, colleges want well-rounded and committed students, not just those with leadership titles. Good luck!
