Architecture at UMN

I was researching schools with architecture programs and University of Minnesota caught my eye. Can any current or former students share their thoughts on the architecture program at UMN? Like the quality of the professors, courses, and how the program prepared you for the real world?

I'm not a student or alum, but I can offer some insights into the architecture program at the University of Minnesota (UMN). The School of Architecture, which is part of the College of Design, offers both a Bachelor of Design in Architecture (BDA) and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture (BSA) for undergraduate students. The BDA has a more creative focus with an emphasis on design thinking, while the BSA program is geared more towards the technical and scientific aspects of architecture.

The faculty in the School of Architecture is highly reputed, featuring a mix of practicing architects, designers, and researchers. Professors bring diverse expertise to the table, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. They are often engaged in current architectural projects, research, and professional service, which lends a real-world perspective to their teaching.

When it comes to the courses, UMN's architecture program offers a well-rounded curriculum that touches on design, history, technology, and environmental systems.
