How diverse is Baylor University?

Baylor caught my attention recently, but I wanted to learn more about the diversity on campus. Can anyone give me a general idea of how diverse the student population is at Baylor? Does the school actively promote a diverse learning environment?

Baylor University is located in Waco, Texas, which has its own unique blend of cultures. That being said, Baylor's actual campus diversity might not be as high as at some other universities. According to recent data, about 59% of the student population identifies as White, followed by Hispanic students at 18.9%, and Black or African American students at 7.2%. Asian students represent around 7.1% of the population, while Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander students and American Indian or Alaska Native students account for less than 1%. Additionally, about 5% of the student body are international students.

Despite not having the most diverse student population, Baylor is committed to fostering an inclusive environment on campus. The school's Equity, Civil Rights, and Title IX Office, as well as student groups like the Baylor & Beyond Living-Learning Community, aim to educate the Baylor community about various cultures and create an open dialogue on topics related to diversity and inclusion. There is also

the Department of Multicultural Affairs, which supports and advises multicultural student organizations.

Even though Baylor's campus might not be as diverse as some other institutions, the university is actively working towards enhancing diversity and inclusion on campus, so the environment could feel empowering for students who value these efforts. It's always a good idea to visit the campus and connect with current students or alumni to get a personal understanding of the atmosphere and decide if it aligns with your own expectations and values.
