Is it better to take more AP classes or focus on my extracurriculars?

Hello everyone! I'm trying to decide if I should take more AP classes or focus more on my extracurricular activities during my senior year. What do colleges value more: a rigorous course load or strong involvement in extracurriculars? I want to make sure I'm making the best choices for my application.

Hi there! It's great that you're thinking ahead about how to strengthen your college application. From my experience with my own child, I would say that finding a balance between AP classes and extracurriculars is important. Colleges appreciate students who challenge themselves academically, but they also want well-rounded individuals who are involved in their communities and demonstrate leadership skills. It's essential to consider your own interests and strengths when making this decision. If you're passionate about a particular extracurricular activity and believe it will truly showcase your unique talents, then it may be worth focusing on that. However, if you feel that taking more AP classes will help you demonstrate your academic prowess, then that might be the better choice for you. My advice is to consider the schools you're aiming for and research their expectations. Most importantly, don't forget to make time for yourself and enjoy your senior year! Good luck!
