Speech Language Pathology Schools in Florida?

I'm looking to study speech language pathology and I want to stay in Florida for college. Anyone have suggestions on which schools have good programs for SLP in Florida?

It's excellent that you're narrowing down your choice of field and location, which can be very helpful in focusing your search for schools. In Florida, there are several institutions with reputable speech-language pathology programs:

1. University of Florida (UF) - UF has an accredited, top-ranked program in speech-language pathology. As part of the College of Public Health and Health Professions, their Bachelor of Health Science (BHS) program offers a Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) track. UF also provides a Master of Arts (M.A.) in SLP that is accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

2. Florida State University (FSU) - FSU's School of Communication Science and Disorders offers an accredited Bachelor of Science (B.S.) program in CSD. Students who graduate with a B.S. in CSD can continue their education with FSU's Master's program, which is also accredited by ASHA.

3. University of South Florida (USF) - USF has a broad range of options for SLP. They offer undergraduate programs in CSD with emphases in language-speech-hearing (for aspiring SLPs) or deaf studies (for students interested in working primarily with the deaf/hard of hearing population). Their graduate program is accredited by ASHA and focuses on training students for careers as SLPs.

4. Florida Atlantic University (FAU) - FAU's Communication Sciences and Disorders program provides a B.S. in CSD, which can be a pre-professional program for those interested in SLP. They also offer a Master of Science (M.S.) program in SLP that is accredited by ASHA.

5. Nova Southeastern University (NSU) - NSU offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Speech-Language and Communication Disorders. They also have a Master of Science (M.S.) program in SLP, which is accredited by ASHA.

These are just a few examples of Florida schools with strong speech-language pathology programs. When looking into these programs, consider factors such as program accreditation, available resources and facilities, research opportunities, and the overall academic and social environment at each institution. Good luck with your search!
