How important is it to have a high SAT/ACT score for college admissions?

Hey everyone, I'm currently a junior, and I've been stressing a bit about my SAT and ACT scores. How important are these scores in the grand scheme of things? If I don't get a super high score, will it hurt my chances of getting into a good college? Any advice would be really helpful. Thanks!

Hey there! I can understand that the SAT/ACT scores can be a source of stress, but it's important to remember that they are just one piece of the college admissions puzzle. While it's true that some colleges place a significant emphasis on standardized test scores, many others are looking for well-rounded students who excel in various areas, not just academics. It's essential to focus on your overall application, including extracurricular activities, personal essays, and teacher recommendations. In recent years, many colleges have also adopted test-optional or test-flexible policies, which means you may not even need to submit your SAT/ACT scores at all. My advice would be to do your best on the tests, but also to work on building a strong application in other areas. Remember, your test scores don't define you or your potential, so don't let them hold you back. Good luck!
