How do I choose which standardized test scores to submit?

Hi everyone! I've taken both the SAT and ACT, and I'm trying to decide which scores to submit with my college applications. Do colleges have a preference between the two tests, and should I submit scores from both if they're similar? Also, if I have a higher score on one test, should I only submit that one? Any advice would be appreciated!

Hello! Great question - deciding which standardized test scores to submit can be a bit confusing. First, it's important to know that most colleges in the United States do not have a preference between the SAT and ACT. They typically accept both test scores and will use a concordance table to compare them fairly. So, you can feel confident knowing that submitting either one will be fine. As for submitting scores from both tests, you certainly can if you think they're both strong and provide a good representation of your abilities. However, it's not necessary to submit both if you feel that one is significantly stronger than the other. If you have a higher score on one test, it's generally recommended to submit that one. It's also essential to check each college's specific standardized test requirements and policies, as some schools may be test-optional or have other unique guidelines. Ultimately, the choice is yours, but the key is to submit the scores that you feel best represent your academic potential. Best of luck with your applications!
