Should I take both the SAT and ACT, or just one?

Hey everyone, I'm a junior and I've been debating whether I should take both the SAT and ACT or just focus on one. I know some colleges accept either test, but would taking both give me a better chance of getting in? Thanks for any advice you can offer!

Hey there! It's great that you're being proactive in thinking about your college admissions process. In my experience with my own child, we decided that they should focus on just one of the tests. This allowed them to really concentrate on the specific format and content of either the SAT or ACT, rather than dividing their attention and energy. My child chose the test that they felt most comfortable with after taking a few practice tests for both. You can find free practice tests online or in prep books from your local library. Once they identified their preferred test, they dedicated their time to studying and improving their scores in that specific exam. Most colleges accept both SAT and ACT, so taking both isn't necessary. However, if you feel confident and are performing well in both, you can take them both if you're willing to invest the time and effort. The key is to focus on the test that highlights your strengths and gives you the best chance of success. Good luck in your test prep and college admissions journey!
