Is UPenn a safety?

Hi everyone, so I'm currently working on my college list and was wondering if I could consider UPenn as a safety school? What are your thoughts on this?

It's important to understand that the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) is an Ivy League institution and is highly competitive. UPenn is not a safety school for any applicant, as its acceptance rate hovers around 4-6%. While it's great to have confidence in your application, you should consider a range of schools in terms of selectivity (reach, target, and safety).

A safety school is typically one where your academic credentials are significantly above the average admitted student's profile, and the acceptance rate is higher than at more selective institutions. A safety school should be a place where you feel confident that you would be admitted, be happy to attend, and can afford.

It's always wise to include a mix of reach, target, and safety schools in your college list. Reach schools are highly competitive, where your chances are lower but still possible. Target schools are those where your profile aligns well with the average admitted student, and you have a reasonable chance of admission. Finally, safety schools are those where you are almost certain to be admitted, given you meet the institution's admission requirements.

Remember to diversify your college list and include schools that fit your academic, financial, and social preferences. Best of luck with your college search!
