What factors should I consider when picking a major?

Hi everyone, I'm a junior in high school and I'm starting to think about what I want to study in college. There are so many options and I'm not sure how to choose. What factors did you consider when picking your major? Any advice would be appreciated!

Hello! It's great that you're starting to think about your major early on. When my child was selecting their major, we considered a few important factors. First, think about your interests and passions – you'll be more likely to succeed and enjoy your studies if you're genuinely interested in the subject. Second, consider your strengths and skills – choose a major that aligns with your natural talents. Third, research potential career paths and job prospects for the majors you're interested in – it's important to have a realistic understanding of the job market. Lastly, talk to people who have studied or are working in the fields you're considering – their insights can be invaluable. Don't forget that it's okay to change your mind later on if you find that your initial choice doesn't suit you. Good luck with your decision!
