Engineering programs at Morehouse

Hi everyone! I'm pretty interested in Morehouse College and I was just wondering if they have any good engineering programs available? If so, which ones should I look into?

Morehouse College is a fantastic institution, but it's important to note that it's a liberal arts college with a focus on humanities and social sciences. That being said, Morehouse College has partnered with some prominent engineering schools to offer a Dual Degree Engineering Program (DDEP). Through this program, students spend three years at Morehouse College studying a foundational major such as Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science, and then transfer to the partnering engineering school for another two years to complete their engineering degree.

The partnering institutions include some well-known schools such as Georgia Institute of Technology, Auburn University, University of Michigan, University of Notre Dame, and more. After completing the program, you would earn two bachelor's degrees - one from Morehouse, and the other from the partnering engineering school. The fields of engineering that you can study through this program depend on the partnering institution you choose. Some options include but are not limited to Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and more.

It's important to know that admission to partner engineering schools is not automatic; you’ll have to meet certain academic requirements throughout your time at Morehouse and maintain good standing in the program. However, the program exposes you to the liberal arts experience as well as expertise in engineering, giving you a unique academic foundation.

If this program aligns with your interests, you should research the participating schools and their related engineering disciplines to find the best fit for you. Remember, you'll want to excel academically at Morehouse in your foundational major to increase your chances of transferring to a partnering engineering school of your choice. Good luck!
