Franklin and Marshall University Athletics

Hey! I'm considering Franklin and Marshall University and I'm curious about their athletics. Can anyone share their experience with the sports teams/programs at F&M? Are they competitive and well-supported by the school?

Hey there! While I haven't personally experienced Franklin & Marshall University's athletic programs, I can give you some information based on what I've gathered from others. F&M is a NCAA Division III school and is a member of the Centennial Conference, which means there's a focus on both academic and athletic achievement. It's worth noting that Division III schools do not offer athletic scholarships, so academics are prioritized.

F&M is home to 27 varsity teams, 15 club sports, and a number of intramural sports. From what I've heard, the teams are quite competitive, and the coaches are generally dedicated to helping student-athletes develop and grow in their respective sports. The athletics facilities are well-maintained, and the college has continued to invest in improvements over the years. A recently completed project included the renovation of Shadek Stadium, which serves as the home field for the football, field hockey, and lacrosse teams.

The college community takes pride in their athletic teams and attends events to show support. Although athletics may not take center stage as much as they would at a larger Division I institution, the student body still gets involved and rallies around their fellow Diplomats. This level of support contributes to a tight-knit community on campus.

If you're considering joining a sports team at F&M, you can expect to find a welcoming environment where you can excel athletically while staying focused on academics. To get a better feel for the student-athlete experience, I would recommend reaching out to current team members or coaches for their insights. Good luck in your college search!
