Grand Valley State ranking?

Hello! I'm thinking about applying to Grand Valley State University and wanted to know a bit more about its ranking among other universities. Can anyone provide its overall ranking and the ranking for individual majors or programs? Thanks a lot!

Hello! I'm glad you're considering Grand Valley State University (GVSU). While rankings can provide some insight, it's important to remember that they don't give the full picture of what a school has to offer. After all, a school may be lower ranked overall, but be especially strong in the areas that matter most to you.

That said, I can provide some general ranking information to help you in your research. Grand Valley State University is generally well-regarded and is ranked #103 in the 2022 edition of Best Colleges, Regional Universities Midwest by U.S. News & World Report.

As for individual majors or programs, GVSU has strong programs in a variety of fields. Here's a list of some of their more highly ranked departments:

- Seidman College of Business: GVSU has a respected business school and offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs, in areas including accounting, finance, marketing, and management.

- College of Health Professions: GVSU's nursing program is considered highly competitive, and the university offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in nursing and other health-related fields.

- College of Education: GVSU is known for its teacher preparation programs in both elementary and secondary education.

- College of Engineering and Computing: GVSU's engineering and computing programs are strong, with several ABET-accredited degrees available: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, and product design and manufacturing engineering for undergraduates.

Of course, these are just a few examples of the majors and programs offered at GVSU. I encourage you to explore their website to learn more about specific departments and degree offerings, and to also consider factors like campus life, location, and available resources when making your college decision. Ultimately, you want to be sure you choose an institution where you’ll thrive academically, socially, and personally. Good luck!
