What colleges offer surgical tech programs?

Hey guys! My dream career is to become a surgical tech and I'm currently a high school junior. I was wondering if anyone here could point me in the right direction by suggesting some colleges with good surgical tech programs? Thanks!

Hi there! I'm glad to hear that you have a clear career goal in mind! Surgical technologist programs are commonly offered by community colleges, vocational schools, and technical institutes, rather than traditional four-year colleges or universities. These programs generally lead to a certificate or an associate's degree in Surgical Technology.

When researching surgical tech programs, make sure the program you're interested in is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Attending an accredited program will ensure that you have access to quality education and are eligible to take the national exam to become a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).

Additionally, note that to become a surgical technologist, you'll need to graduate from an accredited program and pass the national certification exam administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). Many employers prefer or even require certification, so it's important to keep this in mind as you plan your education and future career. Good luck!
