ASU main campus location - why did you choose it?

Hello, fellow students! I'm considering attending ASU's main campus, but I would love to hear from current or former students. What specific aspects of the main campus location contributed to your decision to attend? (i.e. resources, facilities, social scene, etc.)

Hello! I've heard from several ASU students, and there are a few key aspects they often mention when discussing why they chose the main campus:

1. Resources and Facilities: ASU's main campus, also known as the Tempe campus, has state-of-the-art facilities such as the Marston Exploration Theater and the beautiful Memorial Union. Students have access to excellent resources like the outstanding library system and various research opportunities within easy access.

2. Academic Programs: The Tempe campus has a wide range of academic programs, including the W. P. Carey School of Business, the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, and the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. This variety allows students to explore multiple areas of interest and take advantage of interdisciplinary learning opportunities.

3. Social Scene: The main campus features a vibrant social scene with numerous cultural, sporting, and student-run events throughout the year. The presence of a large number of clubs and organizations allows students to find communities of like-minded people and get involved in their interests.

4. Proximity to a Thriving City: The main campus is located in the heart of Tempe, with easy access to all the amenities of a city. Students can take advantage of the numerous shopping, dining, and entertainment options available in the surrounding area. Additionally, the convenient transportation options with the Valley Metro Light Rail and the Orbit bus system make getting around a breeze.

5. Outdoor and Recreational Activities: The Tempe campus has a fantastic combination of urban conveniences and nearby natural wonders. With pleasant weather for much of the year, students can explore nearby hiking trails, visit Tempe Town Lake, or enjoy outdoor recreational activities on or off campus.

Of course, every person's preferences will be different, but many students found these aspects of the main campus location especially appealing when making their decision.
