Marketing at Binghamton?

I'm thinking about applying to Binghamton University for a marketing major. Can anyone who goes there or knows someone who does provide insight on how the marketing program is? Like are there good internship opportunities and how well do they prepare you for a career in marketing?

While not a full major, Binghamton University does offer a marketing concentration within the School of Management (SOM), which is a four-course sequence designed to give you a solid knowledge base in the field. Students praise the School of Management for its strong reputation and well-rounded business education, which can provide you with a solid foundation in fields like marketing.

In terms of internship opportunities, Binghamton University has a dedicated career center called the Fleishman Career Center that will help you find marketing internships and other business-related internships. They organize on-campus job fairs and networking events, and also provide one-on-one career counseling, resume review, and interview preparation services. Binghamton has a strong alumni network, which is another advantage when it comes to searching for internships.

Regarding preparation for a career in marketing, the School of Management offers a robust curriculum covering a variety of marketing topics, such as consumer behavior, marketing research, digital marketing, and marketing strategy. The coursework will help you develop relevant skills and knowledge needed for a successful marketing career. You'll also have the opportunity to engage in case study competitions and join student organizations such as the Binghamton University Marketing Association (BUMA), which will help you network with industry professionals and gain hands-on experience.

In summary, Binghamton University's marketing major within the School of Management has a solid reputation, a strong curriculum, and offers support through the Fleishman Center for career development. Make sure you take full advantage of these resources and opportunities to advance your career in marketing. Good luck!
