pratt university athletics

I'm considering attending Pratt University, and I also want to stay active in sports. Does anyone know about their athletics department and what sports teams they have? How is the overall student/athlete experience at Pratt?

Pratt Institute, located in Brooklyn, New York, is primarily known for its focus on the arts, design, and architecture fields. While athletics may not be at the forefront of the school's identity, they do offer a range of sports options for students who are interested in staying active and engaged.

Pratt is a part of the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) and offers a variety of varsity sports for both men and women. For men's sports, they have basketball, cross country, soccer, tennis, and volleyball. For women's sports, Pratt offers basketball, cross country, soccer, tennis, and volleyball as well. In addition to these varsity sports opportunities, they also have a growing club sports and recreational sports program that allows students to participate in activities such as intramural sports leagues, fitness classes, and other informal athletic opportunities.

Regarding the overall student-athlete experience at Pratt, you can expect a smaller, close-knit community since the school is predominantly focused on artistic and design fields. However, Pratt's athletic department emphasizes the development of well-rounded student-athletes, both academically and athletically, providing support and resources to help them succeed on and off the field.

If you're seeking a highly competitive athletic environment, you might not find it at Pratt given that their major emphasis is on the arts. Nevertheless, you'll still have plenty of opportunities to remain physically active, foster camaraderie with your fellow students, and participate in competitive sports at the collegiate level.
