Is it bad to apply undecided to college?

Hi everyone! I'm a junior right now and I'm really stressing about college applications. I haven't been able to decide on a major yet, and I'm worried that applying undecided will hurt my chances of getting into a good school. Is it a bad idea to apply undecided? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there! It's completely normal to feel stressed about college applications, especially when it comes to choosing a major. I've been through this process with my own child, so I can definitely understand your concern. Applying undecided is not necessarily a bad idea, as many colleges understand that students may not have a clear idea of their academic path yet. In fact, it is quite common for students to change their majors multiple times during their college years. What's important is to showcase your strengths, interests, and potential when applying. Make sure to highlight your extracurricular activities, volunteer work, and any other experiences that can demonstrate your passion for learning and personal growth. If you have an idea of what subjects you might be interested in, you can mention that in your application essay, but being undecided won't necessarily hurt your chances. Remember, college is a time for exploration and discovery, and many schools are more than willing to help you find your path once you're admitted. Good luck with your applications!
