Highest ACT Score Recorded?

Hey, does anyone know what the highest ACT score recorded is? Just curious about how high some people have managed to get on this test. Also, what would you say is a good score to aim for to have a shot at competitive colleges? Thanks in advance!

Hey there! The highest possible ACT score is 36, and this is considered a perfect score. It is quite rare for students to achieve this score, but it does happen. To give you an idea of how rare it is, less than 0.2% of test-takers achieve a 36.

Regarding what a good score to aim for to be competitive at top colleges, it depends on the specific school you're targeting. Generally speaking, a score of 30 or higher is often considered strong enough to be in the ballpark for many selective colleges. However, for the most competitive colleges (like Ivy League institutions), you might want to aim for a score in the 33-36 range to be on par with the average admitted student.

It's crucial to remember, though, that test scores are only one part of your overall application. Colleges also consider your GPA, course rigor, extracurricular activities, essays, and other parts of your application when making admission decisions. So, while a high ACT score is important, it's not the only factor that schools take into consideration.

Good luck preparing for the ACT and remember to focus on other aspects of your application as well!
