Thoughts on James Madison University's sports management program?

I was researching JMU and saw they have a sports management program. Has anyone here attended/participated in their program, or know someone who did? Would love to get some honest feedback about the curriculum and opportunities for internships during/after the program.

I haven't attended James Madison University, but from what I've heard and researched, their sports management program has a good reputation. The curriculum consists of a mix of courses focused on both the sports industry and business management principles, which prepares students for various roles within the field.

The program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in sports management, including classes in marketing, finance, legal aspects of sports, and facility management. This comprehensive approach to sports management education ensures that students are well-equipped for a variety of roles in the industry. Additionally, professors in the program usually have significant professional experience, which is valuable for students when seeking advice and insight on real-world scenarios.

JMU's location is advantageous when it comes to internships and networking opportunities. As they are in proximity to Washington, D.C. and major sports organizations, students have numerous opportunities for internships and job placements after graduation. JMU's sports management program also emphasizes hands-on learning, allowing students to gain practical experience through internships, working on campus with athletic administration, or assisting with event management.

It's worth noting that networking and being proactive is important for securing internships and jobs in the sports industry. So, while the program may offer a strong curriculum and access to potential opportunities, it's still vital for students to make connections and actively seek opportunities to work in their desired field. Overall, from what I've gathered, James Madison University's sports management program seems to be a solid choice for those interested in a career in the sports industry.
