Hey everyone, I'm looking into DePauw University and I'm really interested in studying engineering. I couldn't find much information on their engineering program. Could someone help me out? Do they offer engineering majors, or should I consider other schools? Thanks!
Hello! While DePauw University is a liberal arts college known for offering a broad range of programs, it does not have a direct engineering major. However, they do offer a 3-2 dual-degree program in engineering. This program allows students to spend three years at DePauw studying a core liberal arts curriculum and pre-engineering courses, and then two additional years at an affiliated engineering school. After completing this 5-year program, students will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree from DePauw and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree from the affiliated engineering school. Some of the affiliated schools include Columbia University, Washington University in St. Louis, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
If you're set on studying engineering, you might want to consider other schools that offer a direct engineering major or a more extensive engineering program. There are many universities with well-established engineering departments, such as Purdue University, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, or Michigan State University, to name just a few. You should research and compare the available engineering programs at different schools to find the best fit for your academic goals and interests. Good luck!
