What's the cost of taking the SAT?

Hey everyone, just started exploring the whole college application process and need to take the SAT. I'm a bit clueless, though... how much does the exam cost? Are there any additional fees for sending scores to colleges? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey! The cost of taking the SAT can vary depending on the specifics of what you need. As of now, the base fee for the SAT is $60, and this includes sending your scores to up to four colleges.

Keep in mind that there might be some additional fees depending on your requirements. For example, if you decide to send your scores to more than four colleges, each additional college will cost $14 per recipient. The same goes for late registration, which will cost an extra $30, and changing the test center or test date, which will cost an extra $25 each.

That being said, if you're facing financial hardships, you can apply for an SAT fee waiver, which would cover two free SAT exams and unlimited score sends to colleges. Generally, you can talk to your high school counselor about getting a fee waiver.

Make sure to look into the specific deadlines and fees associated with your test date on the official SAT website, as they can sometimes change: https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/sat/registration/fees-refunds/test-fees

Good luck as you start the college application process, and I hope this helps clear things up!
