Music Scene at University of Richmond

Hello! The University of Richmond has a vibrant music scene, offering a variety of ensembles, clubs, and performance opportunities for its students. Whether you're a music major/minor or just have a passion for music, there's something for everyone.

In terms of ensembles, students can join a variety of groups including the UR Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, Chamber Music Ensembles, Choeur du Roi (a select choral ensemble), Schola Cantorum (a large mixed choral ensemble), and the Women's Chorale. These ensembles hold concerts throughout the year and provide an amazing opportunity to perform with your peers.

The Department of Music also hosts a number of guest musicians each year who offer workshops, master classes, and performances open to students. This provides a great opportunity to learn from professionals and get inspired by their work.
