Highest AP Test Score Possible?

Hey guys! Just wondering, what's the highest possible score you can get on an AP test? Are there any average scores available for different subjects? I'm trying to set a goal for myself. Thanks in advance!

Hey there! The highest possible score you can get on an AP test is a 5, which is considered extremely well-qualified. The scoring scale ranges from 1 to 5, where a score of 3 generally represents a qualified performance and may be sufficient for earning college credit at some institutions.

As for average scores, they do vary by subject. The College Board releases yearly reports on the average scores for each exam, but keep in mind that these are just overall averages and not necessarily representative of how you might perform.

To set a goal for yourself, it's important to focus on understanding the material, practicing with AP-style questions, and identifying any areas where you might need additional help. Aiming for a 4 or a 5 is always a great goal, as it demonstrates a strong understanding of the subject and is more likely to earn you college credit.

Best of luck with your AP exams! Remember, practice and preparation will be the key to reaching your score goals.
