What are the current SAT requirements for Rutgers University?

Hey everyone, I'm a junior and I'm looking into applying to Rutgers University. I understand that test requirements might change from year to year, but can anyone share what the SAT score requirements are as of now? Thanks!

Hey there! As of the 2024-2025 application cycle, Rutgers University is considered test-optional, which means that submitting SAT scores is not required for your application. However, if you have taken the SAT and believe your scores could positively contribute to your application, you are encouraged to submit them. Since it's test-optional, there isn't a strict SAT requirement to be met.

That being said, to gauge your competitiveness, you can look at the middle 50% SAT scores of admitted students. For Rutgers University-New Brunswick, the middle 50% SAT scores for enrolled students in Fall 2023 were between 1270 and 1480. Keep in mind that this data is from a previous year, and score ranges may change slightly each year.

Remember that SAT scores are just one aspect of your application; your GPA, extracurriculars, essays, and recommendation letters will also play a significant role in the admissions process. Good luck with your application!
