What's the student demographic like at the University of San Diego?

I'm seriously considering applying to the University of San Diego, but I wanted to get a sense of the student demographic there. Does anybody have any information about the diversity and general atmosphere on campus?

The University of San Diego (USD) has a diverse student body, with students hailing from various backgrounds, cultures, and countries. According to the university's Factbook, as of Fall 2023, the undergraduate ethnic diversity breakdown was approximately:

- 57-69% White

- 8-18% Hispanic/Latino

- 6-10% Asian

- 3-4% Black/African American

- 1-3% Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander

- 1% American Indian/Alaska Native

- 15% Two or more races

Furthermore, international students make up around 6% of the undergraduate population. These numbers reflect the university's commitment to creating an inclusive campus environment.

In terms of the general atmosphere on campus, many students describe USD as having a welcoming and friendly vibe. The university has over 120 student-run clubs and organizations, providing ample opportunities to meet people who share your interests and passions. There are also numerous cultural and identity clubs, which foster a sense of belonging and celebrate the diverse experiences of the campus community.

Beyond campus life, USD has a strong focus on social justice and community engagement, as evident in its various service-learning programs and philanthropic initiatives. Students at USD promote inclusivity and work together to address social and environmental issues.

It's important to note that individual experiences can vary, and one of the best ways to get a feel for USD's campus culture is to visit the campus in person. While visiting, consider attending a campus event, talking with current students, and exploring the various resources available for a more accurate picture of life at USD.
