Notre Dame SAT Requirement

Hey, does anyone here have any information on whether the University of Notre Dame requires the SAT for admissions? I'm planning my testing schedule and want to make the most of my time. Thanks!

Notre Dame has adopted a test-optional policy for the 2024 and 2025 admissions cycle, which means you don't have to submit SAT or ACT scores in your application. If you think your SAT scores will strengthen your application, you can definitely submit them, but they are not required.

Do keep in mind, though, that Notre Dame is quite a selective school, and at such institutions you generally want to showcase your strengths in as many ways as possible. So, investing time and energy into aiming high on the SAT (or ACT) could still be worth your while. For detailed guidance on how to navigate test-optional policies, check out this blog post from CollegeVine: https://blog.collegevine.com/does-test-optional-mean-test-optional/

In general, though, at Notre Dame you certainly want to focus on maintaining a strong GPA, taking a rigorous course load, and engaging in meaningful extracurricular activities. Do make sure to review the admissions requirements and any specific requirements for your intended major, as some programs may have additional criteria.

Finally, at competitive schools like Notre Dame, you also want to make sure your strengths come across in the more subjective areas of your application as well, like the essays. Good luck with your college application process!
